Pre-port Verification

Porting is the process of moving your mobile number from one provider to another. To protect you and comply with industry rules, we verify that the person requesting the transfer is authorised to do so. This pre-port verification helps prevent unauthorised transfers and fraud.

How the Pre-Port Verification Process Works

Step 1

Request Number Transfer

Request your number transfer to Yomojo via our customer portal or by speaking with our agents over the phone.

Step 2

Receive a One-Time PIN

We send a unique 6-digit code by SMS to the mobile number you’re transferring.

Step 3

Verify Your Identity

Provide that code to verify your identity and begin the porting process.

Why this is required

✅ Prevents unauthorised ports and SIM-swap fraud.

✅ Confirms the requester controls the number being moved.

✅ Meets legal and regulatory obligations.

What should I do if I didn't request for my number to be transferred?

If you suspect that your phone number has been fraudulently transferred to another provider, you should report the activity to the following:

  • Your current mobile provider

  • The Australian Federal Police or the relevant State or Territory Police

  • Government services that assist individuals who have been targeted by fraud or scams, such as Scamwatch or IDCARE
