Yomojo has been providing customers all over Australia with mobile, mobile broadband, and 4G/5G home internet services for almost ten years. We have recently had a change of ownership, and are embarking on an ambitious expansion strategy with the aim of becoming Australia's next challenger telco, providing a full suite of connectivity and voice options for residential and corporate customers alike.

James comes from a family of technology and marketing pioneers. His paternal grandfather, Andrew Linton, led the Asia Pacific mainframe division for NCR in the 1960s, while his maternal grandfather, Bill Purdy, was the head of marketing for Arnott's Biscuits for almost thirty years. James' late father, John Linton, was regarded as one of the telecommunications industry's most colourful mavericks. He started TPG's internet business in 1995 and went on to found Exetel in the backroom of his home in 2004. Known for his candour, John was one of the few in Australia willing to openly address the industry's business practices.

James became one of Exetel's earliest employees, starting as a Level 1 support staff member during university breaks before rising to the position of Director - Corporate.

Following John's sudden passing in February 2012, James, along with other family members, took on the challenge of growing Exetel into Australia's largest independent telco, with revenue approaching $180 million per annum and a customer base of over 150,000. While responsible for the corporate and partner divisions of Exetel, James was involved in many key decisions, including those concerning the NBN, mobile, and the overall direction of the business.

James is confident that his 18 years of experience at Exetel will serve him well in his recent acquisition of Yomojo. He has ambitious plans to significantly grow Yomojo ahead of its 10th anniversary in November 2025.
