IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE OPTUS 3G NETWORK

Yomojo is working closely with Optus to provide you with a faster and more reliable 4G and 5G network by repurposing 3G. With the advent of newer and faster connections, it's time to bid farewell to outdated technology.

What's happening?

Starting in September 2024, Optus will be re-farming the 900MHz spectrum to improve our 4G network and support the growth of 5G technology. This step is essential to ensure that our customers have access to the best network experience possible.

Once the re-farming process begins, 3G services will no longer be available on the Optus network.

How will this affect me?

After the shutdown, 3G services will no longer be available. This means, that if you are in regional areas where the best network that you can get is 3G, or if your phone or mobile data device relies on 3G to connect to the internet or to make and receive calls, you will be impacted by this change.

If you're currently using a 4G or 5G compatible device, your service will remain unaffected, and you'll continue to enjoy seamless connectivity.

What do I need to do?

We understand the importance of your service, and we're here to help. We'll be reaching out to customers who we believe may have a device impacted by these changes. We'll also provide you with actionable recommendations to minimise any potential impact within the next few weeks.

So, keep an eye out for your email inbox and your mobile phone. If you do not get any email or text about being impacted by this change, then you are good to go!

How can I check if my device will remain compatible?

If you're using an older device or unsure about compatibility, it's a good idea to double-check the device specifications to make sure everything will work smoothly. You should check that your device supports the following:

  1. 4G 700 MHz (LTE Band 28)
  2. Voice over LTE (VoLTE)
